The Golden Gate Church of Christ is composed of people who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He is the sole source of salvation for all people, whatever race, color, creed or culture. Just look around our congregration and you will see that we believe these things to be true.
First century Christians – men and women – who knew Jesus and walked with Him and his apostles, took great joy in the good news that Jesus rose from the dead, and through Him we have eternal life with God.
Because of our conviction that Jesus is Lord, and that the Bible contains His message for all times, we attempt to base every aspect of our lives, both public and private, on His will.
We assemble on the First Day of the Week to worship God through fellowship, praise, prayer, singing and edifying our members through preaching and teaching. In memory of Jesus’ sacrifice for the the sins of the world, we take communion each Sunday to show the Lord’s death until he comes again.
We also have Bible Study classes for all ages Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
There is no separate clergy in our congregation. The Bible teaches that in Christ Jesus we are all priests, a Holy Priesthood, and have the right to speak directly to God in prayer through His Son, Jesus Christ.
We have chosen several men from our number to serve as spiritual leaders of the congregration. They are called “elders” or “shepherds.” These men are selected according to the Biblical teachings described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. A number of men and women help the elders by volunteering their time in various works of service.
We have a preacher (or minister) that speaks during worship services. He uses his talents and experience to encourage, teach, and inspire us to be more like Jesus in our service to one other.
Each Lord’s Day, our members give of their financial means as God has prospered them. We use the money to help others less fortunate than ourselves, support missionaries, and maintain the church building and premises. Because you are our guest, please do not feel obligated in any way to make a contribution.
